In 2007, we began an archaeology project at the site where it is believed that John Fitch built his first model of a steamboat.  The workshop belonged to Jacobus (Cobe) Scout.  The site is located in Warminster Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.  A scan was done at the site in an effort to locate the site if the log workshop.

The Stone Foundation

At one location there was evidence on the surface of the ground that something had been there and after archaeology uncovered some if the stone foundation, a  scan with the dowsing rod outlined the entire foundation line.  We will continue to perform archaeology to uncover the remains of the foundation. There is interest in constructing a representative log work shop on the site.

While scanning on the site, I followed the west wall beyond the structure southward down towards County Line Road.  The dual lines about 20 inches apart left the current property, crossed the road and continued through the front of three suburban home lots before ending in the middle of the last property.  Was this a stone wall extending from the corner of the structure and following the lane to the main road?
